Before we start, I’d like to say that I am not a lawyer. Don’t substitute anything that is written in this article for pure legal advice. Always be sure to check with your state or country’s local laws and requirements to ensure you are in compliance. Now that we’ve cleared that up, time to get to work.
Over the past few years I have seem the rapid growth of the Black Business Community here in Chicago. While encouraging, I’ve also encountered a discouraging amount of stagnation as well when it comes to expansion and introductions to new and profitable markets. I found myself asking the same questions over and over; They have a great product/restaurant/business idea in place, so why isn’t it doing better? What’s the missing link to help them move to the next level? How can I help them? Unfortunately, there isn’t a blanket solution to address every individual need. This is how the Secure the Bag, Not a Lawsuit series came about. The goal of this series is to address the common issues Black Business Owners face on a daily basis, find solutions, and provide vital tools to help grow their brand and business. Each week, I will provide a different topic as well as helpful tools and links relating to the topic of the week. I encourage and welcome all feedback and questions you may have small or great! Thank you for the continuous support of Seasoned and Blessed as we start on a new phase of growth!
